GULETTES
Gulets are so old
trade wooden vessels.Over the years gulettes have evolved from
traditional fishing and cargo vessels into their present profile of a
broad beam and wide deck.mostly They carried amphoras filled with olive oil and
wine.At the same time humans used them on seawars, and for discovering trips
like Christoph Colombus.They have built in different part of
Europe(Mostly Greek and on some Greek islands) and in Turkey mostly
in Bodrum,Bozburun,Istanbul and north part of Turkey.Long centuries they
have supplied transportation of countries on sea and oceans.Today in Turkey
gulets are still building in ageaan part more(Bodrum,Bozburun,Selimiye) and in
Istanbul (Tuzla).Bodrum and Bozburun are so popular in that kind of yatch
producing. Bodrum area in Turkey and hence are referred to as
"Bodrum-Type" yachts or "Gulettes"; sometimes also referred
to as 'Caiques'.Sure today people use gulets for different aims.Because of
that,today gulets have different design with more modern style.( They have
superior seagoing quality are very comfortable, offering large living areas,
wide sun decks, spacious cabins, WC/ showers and a sun aft deck furnished
lounge area.)
They are including
all new technology for their clients safety and relax.And they mostly still
build with wooden material.Gulets include 2 masts and styled with pointed fore
and round aft.Usually there are 4 to 8 cabins ,some of them can be double
cabins or master cabins in a gulet.It depends of length and style of gulet.The
number of passengers a gulette carries depends on the boat's size, although
most of them accommodate between eight and sixteen people. These vessels have
speparate accommodation for passengers, and chartering one will also include
services and entertainment. Modern gulettes are comfortably equipped with most
home comforts, and encourages a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all the
passengers with a friendly relationship with the crew. |
